This week on In Search of a Song: Producer Bob Johnston (Part 1). Sadly, Bob Johnston passed away recently on August 16, 2015.  We recorded this interview in 2012, and are re-running it in honor of his contribution to the world of music. As the head producer for Columbia records in New York and Nashville, as well as on his own, Bob produced some of the most amazing music in history. With artist such as Bob Dylan, SImon and Garfunkle, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Cash to name just a few. This is a fascinating interview with a producer that was NOT a friend of the suits in the record business, but cared for the musician, and was outspoken in his ability to go his own way and get the beat out of all the artists that worked with him. This is part 1 of a 2 part interview.
