Jason Wilber interviews Sam Bush on June 9th, 2007 before Sam’s show at the Bluebird Nightclub in Bloomington, Indiana. The year before, at the Telluride Bluegrass festival, In Search of a Song was scheduled to interview Sam, however Sam got sick during his first day of performances. We got to catch up to Sam about that, as we missed the interview at the time. Sam said that he felt like he was having a heart attack, and everyone was really worried, and Sam ended up taking a “thousand dollar Ambulance ride” 40 miles away to the nearest hospital. Luckily, it was only a virus. Sam said that he asked the ambulance driver to turn on KOTO (Telluride radio station) that was broadcasting the festival live, and he quipped that the worst part was hearing Bonnie Raitt calling him up to the stage as he drove off into the night.
