What is In Search of a Song?

In Search of a Song with Jason Wilber is a podcast / broadcast radio show from Bloomington, Indiana.  Jason Wilber is a well known singer/songwriter who plays lead guitar with John Prine, and is widely known for his own concerts.  Jason and executive producer Rich Reardin started the program in 2005, and was created to resemble a mix of “Inside the Actor’s Studio”, “Austin City Limits”, and “Piano Jazz”.  The idea was to interview artists about the art of songwriting, and not the usual sensationalistic interview about their lives.  “In Search of a Song” was taken from the Tom T. Hall album of the same name from 1971.  We thought that it would be great to talk with various artists and friends of Jasons, as he toured the world with John Prine.  Our show grew from a local radio program on the local AM station, and now has a large following.  We have interviewed artists such as Arlo Guthrie, Cowboy Junkies, John Prine, Drive By Truckers, Sam Bush, Del McCoury, David Grisman, Frank Vignola, Tim Grimm, Krista Detor, Todd Snider, John Jorgenson, Ben Taylor, Old Crow Medicine Show, Casey Driessen, Tim O’Brien, Bob Cheevers, Ky-Mani Marley, The Sparrow Quartet, Bela Fleck, Pete Best, Robert Bradley, Carrie Newcomer, Jennie DeVoe, The Wailers, Groundation, Culture, and more…
In Search of a Song is dedicated to bringing a glimpse of the creative mind of an artist, as well as insight to the unique individual songwriting process.

I’m new to this site and found both the Todd and the Eric Taylor interviews fantastic. The bio of Jason lists earlier interviews with Arlo, John Prine, and Old Crow (among others) that don’t appear to be available for listening. Are they available at a different site or will they be here at a later date?

Thanks in advance for any info and keep up the GREAT work.

    • Hi John,
We are in the midst of getting ready to broadcast our show on WFHB in Bloomington, and you’ll see more activity coming up soon. Right now we’re editing a great John Prine interview, and some of those other interviews will be up in upcoming months. Be sure to get an RSS feed going, and watch for some stuff. We are just about to put up some new interviews. Thanks for your kind words, the interveiws are great, and more than that, part of history!
      Rich
