Jason Wilber interviews Todd Snider on March 14th, 2008 here in Bloomington, Indiana before Todd’s annual two night concert at the Bluebird Nightclub. This is a very entertaining interview, as Jason and Todd became friends years ago when Todd toured Europe with Jason and John Prine. I saw Todd at Keith Sykes’ Songwriter Celebration in Memphis, Friday, September 5. His live performance was one of the best I’ve seen. The crowd was really into it. He played for an nearly an hour. I bought his recent cd before the show and he played several of the songs on it. I never heard of him before, but now plan to follow him and purchase more of his music.
I also saw you play with John Prine in Springfield, Illinois, about a year ago. I’ve liked Prine for many years, but you were impressive as well in the 2 or 3 solo songs you played while John took a break.
It’s amazing how good musicians sort of hang around together and know each other. You guys keep up the good work! By the way, very nice interview here.
